Most people may throw away old cardboard boxes…but not Monami Ohno.
This artist makes highly realistic 3-D models of various objects (such as tanks, planes, and cars). But instead of using clay or other common modeling materials, she uses something pretty unique. Monami Ohno builds her amazing models out of cardboard.
Monami Ohno studied 3-D animation at the Osaka University of the Arts, located in Kanan, Japan. She then discovered the malleability of corrugated cardboard and its possibilities as a cheap alternative to the more expensive modeling products other students and artists were using.
