Prolific and critically-acclaimed actor Philip Seymour Hoffman has revealed he recently completed a rehab program for drug abuse.
The program lasted a mere 10 days and Hoffman was encouraged to enroll due to concerned friends and family who saw him relapse into abusing pills and snorting heroin. Hoffman revealed hed had problems with drug abuse in the past but had been clean for 23 years before falling off the wagon.
It was all that [drugs and alcohol], yeah, it was anything I could get my hands on… I liked it all, he said. Eventually he realized he needed to change. I went [to rehab], I got sober when I was 22 years old. You get panicked… and I got panicked for my life. It really was just that.
Though 10 days might sound like too short for a treatment, Hoffman seems to have a real handle on his problem and has thrown himself right back into work, hes set to star in the upcoming movie Gods Pocket alongside John Slattery and Christina Hendricks. Thats what we call a consummated professional; we wish you the best of luck, Philip!
