Actor Michael Ian Black used the tragic murder of a woman during the Charlottesville white supremacist attack on Saturday to push an anti-President Donald Trump agenda that would make his Hollywood friends smile.
The “Wet Hot American Summer” star said that the murder of the 32-year-old paralegal, Heather Heyer, by a man in a car was the same as if “the President stood in the middle of 5th Ave and shot” her himself.
Metaphorically speaking, yesterday the President stood in the middle of 5th Ave and shot somebody. Her name was Heather Heyer.
The allusion was to the president’s statement during the campaign that he “could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody. And I wouldn’t lose any voters.”
As clever as he thought he was, social media humbled him quickly.
No he didn’t, and it’s THIS TYPE OF RHETORIC THAT LEAD TO YESTERDAY’S EVENTS. You hate filled, propaganda spreading, bigot ❗️😡❗️😡❗️😡❗️😡❗️😡❗️
Metaphorically, so did you. This is nonsense.
Literally speaking, your tweet is despicable.
Bad form. Really Bad Form.
Dangerous hyperbolic, you people need to stop fueling extremist ideas
Metaphorically speaking, the President stood in the middle of Dallas and shot 5 police officers. https://t.co/RsTsnYlsZT
You went for profound, but ended up with absurd. Yikes. Love you in the new Wet Hot though!
Just like @BarackObama golfing when the Dallas police officers were shot? Your thought process is complete BS.
Metaphorically speaking, yesterday Michael Ian Black stood in the middle of 5th Ave and shot himself in the foot.
Metaphorically speaking, you are shouting “FIRE!” in a crowded room. Knock it off.
