Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their wedding photos to the public earlier today. The couple, who announced their engagement last month, is right on track for their May 19 wedding date.

The photographs were one of the last hurdles the couple had to face before getting married. Now all that’s left for us to do is wait to see the two when May 19 finally arrives.

The two images released were taken by celebrity and fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski.

Lubomirski was once an assistant to Mario Testino, who is credited with taking some of the most iconic photographs of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana.

“It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple’s love for one another,” Lubomirski said through a statement released by Kensington Palace.

“I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”

The two photos showed the couple embracing, and made sure to highlight the ring. In the photo below, Harry is dressed in a blue suit and Markle is fitted in a Ralph and Russo dress.

A couple of hours later, Kensington Palace released a third photo to the public via Twitter.

“As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you,” read the statement accompanying the photo.

This weekend, Harry and his future wife will be spending their first Christmas together as a royal couple.

The news of this break in tradition raised some eyebrows when it was announced earlier this month.

Markle will be the first future spouse to spend Christmas with the royal family. Kate Middleton wasn’t even awarded this honor.

Last month, when the couple announced their engagement, they sat down with the BBC for an in-depth interview.

There, the couple revealed how they met and how Harry proposed.

Now that the photos are out, all we can do is wait for more news regarding the new royal couple. Markle still needs to be baptized by the church of England prior to her wedding.

After that, she begins her long journey to becoming a UK citizen. As we wait for more news, we wish the newest royal couple a very merry Christmas!
