There is a certain snobbishness that often goes along with being a purveyor of art. You need to be able to sell people on something completely subjective and wholly centered on personal taste. A lot of what goes into making a painting successful is its placement in a gallery and how well an artist or art lover can sell the emotional effect of a painting.
One man decided to test his skills in this particular museum and see how well he could sell an Ikea painting he bought for $10. The results are truly ridiculous.
He really fooled those art “experts,” didn”t he? This just goes to show that you can be duped into buying any old hunk of junk in the art world if you are sold on it properly. I don”t think people ever really know what they are looking for when it comes to art, and they”ll listen to just about anyone.
